DSL

www.dslwebserver.com Great site with information on how to run your own web server on your DSL line. Very informative.
www.dslreports.com Best source of information on DSL providers and current happenings. The only place you should go to for SBC-Ameritech DSL support!

Web

www.aprelium.com/abyssws/ Abyss web server -small, but powerful web server that runs this site.
www.palacio-cristal.com Dynamic DNS updater that has worked great. Small application that runs on your PC and updates your DNS address to a DNS service like http://www.dyndns.org.
http://www.dyndns.org Offers free DNS hosting service. When combined with a Dynamic DNS updater it makes it real easy for your PC on a DSL line to be available for the world.

Windows

www.answersthatwork.com/Tasklist_pages/ Good list of Windows applications that run automatically in the background when Windows starts.
www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml Great program that let's you easily control what programs run automatically under and Windows operating system. Nice replacement for msconfig that Microsoft screwed up in their implementation of Windows XP.
www.safer-networking.org/ Spybot -the greatest spyware removal program -and it's really free. So good I sent in the requested donation.
www.grisoft.com Dump Norton antivirus products and try this great free antivirus software. Installed it on one computer and only used a little over 2 Mb of RAM. Updates are also free.

Video Editing

www.dvdrhelp.com/author DVD R help site. Lots of good information to wade through the complex world of DVD authoring.
www.videoguys.com Site with all kinds of no nonsense video advice. Does promote some products.
http://www.canopus.us I use the Canopus ADVC-100 to convert my old videos to AVI using their hardware solution. I have used it several times and it has prove to be very reliable. No problems with video to audio synchronization -even on 2 hour tapes. I bought mine from some Macintosh company -hey it was cheap $259.
